Thierryno Gangou started the piano at the age of seven. He played in his first amateur band at eleven and was an experienced and accomplished pianist, keyboardist and singer by age eighteen, before embarking on a professional career.
His past credentials are astonishing. Throughout the late 80’s his five-piece band played extensively at the venues such as La Veranda hotel, Royal Palm hotel, Blue Lagoon hotel, and le Touesrok hotel in his native land of Mauritius. At the end of the 80’s he founded another band for the residency at Le Canonnier hotel.
In 1993 he went to Singapore and played in at prestigious Raffles hotel, Djakarta, Sari Pan Pacific hotel and the Regent hotel in Malaysia.
In his boldest move to date he moved to Dubai with an acoustic 4-piece band named The Creole Stars. During this period he was the front man; the pianist and singer of the band. From February to the end of August 2000 they spent six months at the prestigious Burj Al Arab as the band in the Al Muntaha restaurant. He has also played a special show for the Princess of Brunei,Nelson Mandela in the hotel. From September to the end of April they then worked in the Royal Mirage hotel at The Beach Restaurant.
After a year he went to Bahrain and took up residency at the Royal Meridien hotel,after that he went to the Seychelles at Le Lemuria Hotel. Back in Mauritius, played in Le Meridien hotel, Le Taj spa and resort, the One and Only Le Touesrok and in the Sands Resort Hotel.
Now based in Perth, where he played at the Mindarie keys,the Burswood Spice lounge and the Captain cook cruises.He also has joined a Wami Award winning band,the Grace Barbe Afro Kreol,who plays in all the big festivals around Australia.The latest they played was in Byron Bay at the Blues and Roots festival and also the Fairbridge festival.
